Preteens are bombarded with the media from every angle – online, video games, movies, TV shows, music and more. These images, sounds and videos can be potentially harmful. With constant exposure and the lack of a filter, students become immune to their potentially harmful effects. That’s the secret weapon of sin and temptation. They sneak in as seemingly harmless – under the radar. They become what we believe to be normal or acceptable, and that is when the destruction begins.
In Philippians 4:8, Paul writes to the Philippians about what to put into our minds and hearts – “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” This verse is the focal point of the series.
Under The Radar is not intended to shield preteens from these images, situation or sounds. Instead, preteens will be equipped to detect them with the radar of God’s Word, and make better choices in what they see, hear and do.
